In this exhibit, artist and photographer, Phineas K. Gage pulls back the thin veil of reality to peer into Forgotten Lore Theatre’s immersive world, Evermore. In his unique style, Gage’s images and abstractions give voice to a dark and inexpressible reality devised from the interwoven imaginations of some of history’s greatest literary minds.

Lovers and Madmen

Romp with lovers. Rehearse with mechanicals. Revel with fairies. Revere the goddess. Something wicked stirs in the wood outside Athens. The Amazon queen, Hippolyta plots to liberate herself from her captor and would-be husband, Theseus. With only four nights before the royal wedding, Hippolyta takes flight into the forest to invoke the favor of an ancient goddess setting into motion a series of misadventures for the Athenian citizens and misfortunes for the fairy denizens of the wood.

Illimitable Dominion

2020 FRINGEARTS FESTIVAL

1859. Poe was dead to begin with. The dominion of the Red Death grows, infecting the streets of Charles Dickens’s London. Blending and bending the legacies of two literary icons, audiences are taken into a socially-distanced immersive experience that explores the emergence from isolation into a world re-imagined by Poe’s most lethal creation.

2016 FRINGEARTS FESTIVAL

January, 1850. Edgar Allan Poe is dead, but his creations are restless. At a masquerade gone mad guests are plunged into the fictive but all too real world of the late author’s imagination. Guests become pawns in a violent game played by Poe’s most infamous characters that questions the fate of art after the artist.
